Apparently, Gabbie and I love to chat all things health. So much so that we ended up getting two great videos from our ask doctor mike recording session. This is 27 minutes long but I felt wrong to cut anything out of it as it all seemed relevant and important.

This video is almost a completely unedited conversation we had when we first sat down to record the original Ask Doctor Mike video you saw a few weeks ago. We discuss the rise of anxiety and depression as well as some of the inaccurate portrayal of mental health currently in media. If you have comments or questions based on this video please do drop them down below so that I can address them.

Please Follow The Gabbie Show and be on the lookout for her Vegan video that we collabed on as well!!!

If you want me to collab with a YouTuber you enjoy watching please jump into the comments and let me know. Also, Twitter is a great place to connect us so visit my socials, down right down below. Love you all!

If you or a loved one is in immediate danger calling 911 and talking with police may be necessary. It is important to notify the operator that it is a psychiatric emergency and ask for an officer trained in crisis intervention or trained to assist people experiencing a psychiatric emergency.

  1. It's 1976, I'm 15, my mom died unexpectedly from a car accident, and I'm sitting on the couch shell-shocked as people arrive to head to her funeral. My mom's sister's husband walks in and before he can even get his coat off, he says, "Oh, I just thought of a joke, but I can't say it." I look up, "What is it?" Almost apologetically, he says, "What's the difference between an Irish wake and an Irish wedding?" I say, "I don't know."
"There's one less drunk at an Irish wake." 42 years later, I still remember the relief.

  2. When you do a one on one convo as if a camera isn't there, try a threw cam set up and edit in some frontal shots or turn to the cam. I feel like you two are into each other and not the viewers.

  3. I have a parent who has bipolar. Not once have they turned to alcohol or drugs for self medication. In fact, they immediately seek professional help. Please don’t generalise bipolar when no two cases are the same.

  4. Hey Dr Mike, love your content! It has made my relationship with my own doctor or g.p better so for this alone I thank you. I just wondered what your thoughts are on fibromyalgia and if it’s connected to mental health? My mum was diagnosed a few years ago after many drs, specialists and tests and I often wonder how much of her pain is mental from being in an emotionally and sometimes physically abusive relationship for over 30 years. Would love to hear your thoughts on this sometime. Hope you have a wonderful and productive day 🙂

  5. This is an amazing video. The conversation was nicely done and the topics were wonderful! Mental issues can definitely affect your physical well being. Been there. It’s funny because I was just thinking about a lot of these topics recently.

  6. literally I had a muscle spasm in my shoulder for months upon months and my mom was like there has to be something we can do (physically) and that we just needed to find the right doctor. When in fact, my primary physician was right it was induced by my anxiety and stress. Even if something wasn’t happening that was particularly stressful in my life at that moment, it was most likely from my (like you guys stated) unconscious mind. When I started yoga and practicing mindfulness is when the muscle spasm started to decrease along with exercise. Love you channel so much !! Learn new things all the time 😀

  7. My heart doctor is funny and has very good bed side manner and it did and does help me feel better about what I've gone through with my heart problems. He even let me listen to my favorite band during heart surgery and it was pop-metal music lol

  8. Wow!! I love that you know of Dr. Sarno and his books! Yes, mind+body connection is what's behind so many physical issues!!…I personally, was able to heal such a long list of physical illnesses after someone gave me Dr. Sarno book a few years ago….serious back pains, stomach issues, etc…So excited you are opening people's minds to these concepts here! Bravo!
